The local organising committee can announce impressive sums of prize money and the winners can even look forward to climbing the Matterhorn!

Green light for the women's World Cup downhill races too!

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation FIS has also given the local organising committee (LOC) the green light for the two women's World Cup downhill races on 18/19 November. A week ago at the snow inspection, the go-ahead was allready given for the men's World Cup downhill races on 11/12 November.

FIS snow check on the "Gran Becca": Green light for the men's World Cup downhill races!

Representatives of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) met on Saturday, 28 October on the "Gran Becca" race course for a snow check. The recurring, regular snowfall over the last 10 days, the accumulated snow deposits and the low temperatures have ensured that the FIS International Ski and Snowboard Federation has given the green light for the men's World Cup runs on 11/12 November.

Statement on the decision of the Cantonal Building Commission (KBK) Valais: The World Cup races in Zermatt and Cervinia are not in danger!

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Matterhorn Cervino Speed Openings welcomes the decision of the Cantonal Building Commission (KBK) to stop work outside the perimeter of the homologated ski area on Swiss territory. An appeal will not be lodged. The pairing of the "Gran Becca" has been completed on the Swiss side in the skiing zone and is ready for racing. The races are in no way in danger and the training sessions planned in the run-up to the World Cup races will start as scheduled from next Sunday.

30 days before the first race: Pleasing developments on the “Gran Becca” and two spectacular Swiss Army attractions in the program

Exactly one month until the “Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening”! The preparations for the men's World Cup downhills on 11/12. November and the ladies on the 18th/19th. November went according to plan despite the warm autumn weather. Two thirds of the route are already ready and the snow from the snow depots has been distributed on the slopes in the lower non-glacier part since yesterday. In addition to high-class skiing, the Patrouille Suisse and Swiss Parawings, two flagships of the Swiss Army, will also complement the pre-race program.
