Launch of World Cup Ticket Pre-Sale!
Ski fans now have the unique opportunity to purchase tickets for the «Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening» in Zermatt/Cervinia. Zermatt Tourism enables guests to book an all-inclusive package for the inaugural staging of the cross-border World Cup races. Availability is limited and can be booked via www.zermatt.ch/weltcup.
First partner with ticket purchase option
As the first partner of the «Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening», Zermatt Tourism is offering fans and interested parties the opportunity to purchase a ticket for the new «Gran Becca» World Cup course and to experience the first staging of the races at first hand on site. Christian Ziörjen, Managing Director of the «Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening» is convinced that the World Cup packages will be very popular: «A cross-border World Cup race with the start at 3,800 metres above sea level and the finish area at 2,800 metres above sea level is unique in this form, the high alpine backdrop spectacular. The races perfectly complement the start of the season in the ski area of Zermatt and Cervinia and offer guests an exciting supporting programme.» The date on which the individual tickets will go on sale will be communicated by the organising committee of the «Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening» in mid-July.
A complete experience with one booking
Together with the World Cup ticket, accommodation can already be booked on site: There are options for the men's race weekend as well as for that of the women. The packages include access to the finish area of the World Cup course in Laghi Cime Bianche, Italy, for the downhill races on Saturday and Sunday. An upgrade to a grandstand ticket with the best view of the finish area can also be booked for an additional CHF 25 per person. In addition to the ticket for the first World Cup races on the Matterhorn, the newly designed World Cup package also includes a two-day ski pass for the international ski area of Zermatt - Cervinia/Valtournenche and two to three nights' accommodation in selected hotels in Zermatt.
Zermatt prepares for World Cup races
With the speed start of the ski athletes, guests can expect a new highlight in early winter in the destination Zermatt - Matterhorn. The destination strives to offer guests a great deal along the race course and in the village during the race weekends. «Numerous hotels have decided to open in the off-season for the first time because of the World Cup. The idea of bringing the unique World Cup spirit from the race course to the village is exciting for hoteliers and partner companies alike,» says Christian Eckert, President of the Zermatt Hoteliers' Association.
