The wind is too strong: The first women's training on the Gran Becca is cancelled.

On Wednesday, Sofia Goggia, Corinne Suter & Co. were supposed to train on the Gran Becca for the first time as part of the Matterhorn Cervino Speed Openings. However, strong winds prevented regular training. The jury, which includes members of the FIS and the local organising committee, had no choice than to cancel today's programme.

Despite the wind, the athletes from the various teams took advantage of the almost cloudless sky and the ideal snow conditions in the Cervino Ski Paradise, which has been open to the public since Tuesday 14 November, to at least ski freely.

As far as official training is concerned, the second attempt will be made on Thursday from 11.45 am. The first runs of the 2023/24 season are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, both starting at 11.45 am. The Gran Becca, on which the best downhill skiers will be racing, is 2910 metres long and has a difference in altitude of 665 metres.
