Buon compleanno Sofia!

The champion from Bergamo Sofia Goggia, did not ever hide her love for Breuil-Cervinia both in summer and – of course – winter. She spent here few time during summer testing the new equipment and the slope, as well as enjoying moments of fun and relax at Lago Blu. The scenic lake – that reflects the image of Matterhorn and the other peaks that frame it – was defined by Sofia as “a place of my heart”.

The moment has come, for the four time downhill world champion, to crown her relation and put her sign also on the Gran Becca. Although starting as the very favourite, are many and in great condition the queens of the Ski World Cup taking part in the Zermatt-Cervinia Speed Opening: from the Swiss Corinne Suter and Jasmine Flury – with on their side the slope friendly tracked by Didier Defago -, the great Austrian team led by Mirjam Puchner and the lonely and insidious Ester Ledecka and Ilka Stuhec.

Despite the cancellation of the first official training, Sofia and the Italian team did not miss the opportunity to ski on the free slopes near the Gran Becca. We had the chance to meet Sofia in Cervinia and steal her a precious insight about the morning skiing: “the snow was good and hard, thanks also to yesterdays rain” Sofia said.

Last but not least, the whole Speed Opening staff wants to wish the happiest birthday to the outstanding Italian championship Sofia Goggia, that today turns 31, hoping she will gift herself the first downhill and red first bib of the season!
